What to do after an accident-It's Now or Never ?

Updated: Aug 23, 2021

Whenever someone is in a auto accident I always recommend that they get examined by a chiropractor, not just any chiropractor, but a chiropractor that is trauma qualified. Why ? For several reasons. Trauma qualified chiropractors have a background specific to auto accidents. This is important because in order to get better, and PROVE to insurance companies that you have a problem, we need to correlate causality to bodily injury, and bodily injury to functional loss. This can occur if the doctor has the proper diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan for the patient. Not all chiropractors are versed in this and it will affect your case and your settlement. You can see my qualifications here: US Chiropractic Directory - US Chiropractic Directory (uschirodirectory.com).

I also recommend that when someone is in an accident that even if they do not have symptoms NOW, headaches, whiplash, low back pain, spinal stenosis, disc herniations, arm pain, shoulder pain, hip pain may not occur immediately. It may take days, weeks or even months before symptoms start to develop. If you are examined after an accident you will a) already establish a baseline of your health and b) start getting treated quicker because you already had an examination. This allows the doctor to formulate a diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan for your condition.

I also recommend that auto accident victims get an attorney. This important because the attorney is going to be your advocate in front of the insurance company and possibly in court if your case advances that far. So, is it now or never ? Of course if you do not seek our help out initially, it does not mean that you are doomed. We get patients that have been in an accident weeks later and finally give us a call. I am just recommending that when you are in an accident you call us sooner rather than later.
